Novak Djokovic. 2015 record-breaking year

Roger Federer did win 3 Grand Slams losing Roland Garros final against Rafael Nadal back in 2006 as Novak Djokovic has done this year 2015, he has won 3 Grand Slams (two of them beating Roger Federer in the final) but he lost against Wawrinka in the French Open (Roland Garros is the only one major title that has not been conquered by Novak Djokovic). In 2006 Federer had a matchless balance as he won 92 games losing only 5. Novak Djokovic has won 82 matches losing only 6 this 2015. That year, 2006 by Roger Federer it is deemed as the best tennistic year ever performed by a  player in tennis history (ATP history in real terms), yet take a moment to look the incredible 2015 tennis year of Novak Djokovic.

NOVAK DJOKOVIC 2015
Novak Djokovic has played all the finals of the tournaments he has been therein (Doha aside, it was the first one of 2015 season and he lost against Ivo Karlovic in quarter finals). Novak Djokovic has won ATP World Tour Finals in London and 6 Atp World Masters 1000 (the most important ones after the four Grand Slams) he emerged victorious from Shanghai, Paris, Beijing, Rome, Monte Carlo, Indian Wells and Miami but he even had a superb year likewise in 2011 when he won 3 Grand Slams, 10 titles with 70 won matches and only 6 losses. Overall Novak Djokovic has won 10 Grand Slams losing another 8 finals. He has also won Davis Cup with Serbia and he got a bronze medal in 2008 Beijing Olympics, he was also a runner-up with his country Serbia in another edition of Davis Cup. In 2011 he was 41 matches in a row unbeaten until he lost against Roger Federer in the semi-final of Roland Garros at the end of May, 2011. The are other two tennis players who made history as well, Rafael Nadal in 2010 had a memorable year, he won 3 Grand Slams (French Open, Wimbledon and US Open) he lost the final of ATP World Tour Finals against Roger Federer but he for instance won all the major titles played on clay (Roland Garros, Monte Carlo, Rome and Madrid). Similarly, John McEnroe won 2 Grand Slam titles with a balance of 82 won matches, 13 trophies and only 3 losses in 1984.

Let´s go back to the terrific 2015 tennis year of Novak Djokovic, after having lost against Ivo Karlovic in January on the first tennis tournament of 2015, Djokovic has played all the finals of all tournaments of the year losing only the finals of Roland Garros against Wawrinka, Cincinnati and Dubai against Federer and against Murray in Montreal (he lost another minor game in the first round of ATP world Tour Finals against Federer in London). What is more, Novak Djokovic has made history as he has won the mayor number of points ever conquered by a tennis player in ATP history, with so many accolades Will be Novak Djokovic able to repeat this successful 2015 year? Who has performed the best tennistic year ever? Djokovic in 2011 or 2015, Federer in 2006, Rafael Nadal in 2010 or John McEnroe in 1984? Do share and comment. Elements of Elizabeth Bishop´s poem Twelve O'Clock News

Studying this poem oblige us with assuring it is the epitome of New Historicism movement insofar as the key term thought control is conveyed. Likewise, the political voice is evident, yet criticism, sharp though, is hidden subtly. Seldom can we do against the state power, perhaps write a poem like this one. Elizabeth Bishop does not talk in first person nonetheless, she hides herself behind objects, overlaid with a constant analogy with no rhyme at all, the poem hides a harsh reality, a comparison between ordinary objects we see in our home with a piece of news regarding a conflict, you do not notice it the first time you hear the poem thus the metaphor could scarcely be overly dreadful. However devastating however evident is, the state is right, depending on the side you are in, everything is said consequently, thereby you are to be taught under the notion capitalism is right and nothing horrible is taking place in Vietnam War. The theme of this poem is to make us aware of how we are manipulated. Why must we accept this paradoxical poem?. When we start dinner at home tonight a news show concludes as this second part does. (if you want to read the third part of this piece of work about Elizabeth Bishop´s poem 12 O' Clock News follow the link)

Poem twelve O'Clock News Elizabeth Bishop
As you all know, tonight is the night of the full
moon, half the owrld over. But here the moon
seems to hang motionless in the sky.It gives
very little light, it could be dead. Visibility is poor.
Nevertheless, we shall try to give you some
idea of the lay of the land and the present situation... Elizabeth Bishop

Gascoigne documentary. Is Paul Gascoigne a football legend?

Let´s remember football career of Paul Gascoigne who is making headlines again because of the new documentary about him named Gascoigne that is to be talked about here subsequently. Gascoigne

Paul Gascoigne reached semi-finals both in 1990 World Cup and UEFA EURO 1996 playing for England, similarly, he played for Newcastle, Tottenham, Lazio (Italy) Glasgow Rangers (Scotland), Middlesbrough, Everton, Burnley or Gansu Tianma (China).

He won the FA Cup, 2 Scottish Leagues, one Scottish Cup and one Scottish League Cup. Injuries, diverse scandals and above all his alcoholism ended his career (he was expelled from English national team in 1998 for instance because he was caught drunk, what is more, he tried to punch the English manager because of his decision).

Is Paul Gascoigne a football legend? I am not sure. Even so, I still believe he deserves a documentary as his life and career are interesting and this film Gascoigne it is indeed, we see Wayne Rooney on it whose football style, environment and upbringings are not dissimilar to the ones of Paul Gascoigne, Gary Lineker also appears who played alongside Gascoigne in English national team and finally Jose Mourinho who is not an Englishman but he is very popular nonetheless.

Gascoigne Documental

Documentary Gascoigne is interesting, you can see Paul Gascoigne talking sincerely about his life, failures, scandals, excesses yet the easiness with which many attribute extremely positive adjectives to anyone is insulting. Gascoigne

Let me formulate a question; Is Paul Gascoigne a football legend or England, a country in which football is so important and relevant does not have proper legends hence they are always ready to find anything so that having an excuse to produce a documentary? I am afraid to answer it...

About Daft Punk after seeing Daft Punk Unchained

(This eponymous post has been written after seeing recent documentary Daft Punk unchained that tells of the musical career of Daft Punk, a film I recommend everybody interested not only in Daft Punk but also to those who are no averse to music in general and electronic music in particular)

DAFT PUNK
Daft: "Silly or stupid", informal, mainly United Kingdom. Cambridge Dictionary.

In a world where we fight to each other to share content of our lives on social media posing with the best of our looks, when ordinary citizens got madly crazy to become reality television stars we have two musicians from Paris whose face is unknown since they began recording, this was when their adopted their current name Daft Punk.

They started working in Great Britain and one musical pundit from London said "this is only daft punk", the review was negative, yet Daft Punk deemed it as positive thereby their name Daft Punk. Notwithstanding that statement, Daft Punk is regarded nowadays as true artistic quality.

Daft Punk

We are to remember some relevant Daft Punk tunes inside Daft Punk history mentioning another one Harder, better, faster, stronger that is so good that in addition to the skills of Kanye West produced the song Stronger, one of the best recorded in last times.

Get Lucky Daft Punk
Get Lucky, the most popular song from their last album in which they spend 4 years working on it, they did win 5 Grammy Awards, the only one electronic band in music history to win 5 accolades in a single night (overall they have won 7 Grammy awards being nominated another 6 times).

Pharrel Williams and Nile Rodgers are the special guests of Get Lucky

Daft Punk Da Funk
Their first disco was Homework that made them renowned on independent circles, this videoclip with a dog as main protagonist is really good.

Daft Punk scarcely render live concerts. However, when they do it they blow everything apart. For instance, one of the best concerts ever was made in Coachella, Southern California in 2006, their performance is still considered as one of the greatest ever.

Daft Punk

Daft Punk is formed by two Parisian people named Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. As their image, look and everything they arrange, we do not know yet what they are to do next.

However, given the quality of everything they produce we have to be alert. Is somebody out there who still believes Daft Punk produce stupid punk music? Perhaps!!!!! Do share and comment.
