Oscar Wilde The Happy Prince.

The end of Oscar Wilde is one of the saddest and even unfair in the history of Literature. After reaching a relevant position he saw himself prosecuted by an important man who destroyed his life. Oscar Wilde spent two years in prison. 

After that, he had to leave London and lived in Paris in a miserable condition. His family forgot about him and he died in total poverty. However, Oscar Wilde is the author of one of the best works of Literature ever done. Read this in Spanish Oscar Wilde

There are some movies about the plays of Oscar Wilde but there are not so many about Oscar Wilde. This movie "The Happy Prince" is despicable, it seems as if the only reason to do this movie is to add sadness into the already sad end of Oscar Wilde. In fact, there are scenes that are pathetic. 

I think this movie is an interpretation of the last days of Oscar Wilde, what we see did not happen in that way because there are scenes that are awful, horrendous and grotesque. 

Oscar Wilde deserves another kind of movie or even his final character Sebastian Melmoth (this was his name in Paris) deserves a fairer treatment. The sensation this movie gives you is really negative.

There is a huge controversy in Mexico over the painting depicted in this post. The painting represents Mexican hero Emiliano Zapata as if he were gay or a woman. Besides, the horse you see has an erection. 

Emiliano Zapata is an idol for many (peasants for instance) hence a lot of people are so angry at the painting that have come to the Mexican Museum where the painting is in order to destroy it. What do you think??? Is this art???

Joker Joaquin Phoenix and Robert De Niro

I am not a big fan of movies about comic stories. I watched Batman by Christopher Nolan in which Heath Lodger appears and renders a superb Joker performance. However, after watching Joker I want to watch Batman movies again. What is more, there is another Joker performance in the history of movies, this was in 1989 when Jack Nicholson played Joker as well.

The performance of Joaquin Phoenix is impressive, thereby I will not find strange if he wins all major acting awards this season. Joker pays homage to two classic movies of Martin Scorsese: Taxi Driver and the King of Comedy

Indeed, there are scenes that pay homage to Taxi Driver directly or in other words, are equal scenes that bring us back to the iconic story of Taxi Driver. One positive thing about the movie is that Robert De Niro appears, thus the homage is greater thereby. The character Robert De Niro played in the King of Comedy is played on this occasion by Joaquin Phoenix. This is not a mere movie about a comic story, it is a great movie inspired by the world of Gotham.

You are able to discover the development of the character, how it ends up being Joker, the enemy of Batman. This is the best of the movie. Nonetheless, this movie can also be dangerous if somebody takes it wrong, this is felt throughout the entire film. Robert De Niro and Joaquin Phoenix are great here and there are some scenes that are shocking.

Joker is a good movie, they want to shoot a second part, I hope they do not destroy the greatness of this original story about the clown. We have to warn regardless, that this movie is not easy to watch. 

Vida Perfecta. Leticia Dolera.

Chapter four of the television series Vida Perfecta (Perfect life) has stolen my heart. This chapter has been shot in Tarazona, my village, the place where I live. If you are born in London, Paris or New York you will be probably tired of seeing your city on television or in movies. Yet, as I am from a small village in rural Spain seeing your town on television makes one happy. (Read this in Spanish Vida Perfecta Leticia Dolera )

During this chapter, two of the protagonists of the series travel to Tarazona in order to visit their parents. Vida perfecta is written, directed and starred by famous Spanish actress Leticia Dolera. 

I commented her on Instagram to show my gratitude because of the appearance of Tarazona and she liked the comment, something that does not always happen. (She has also retweeted a tweet with a story I wrote about it)

Vida Perfecta tells the adventures of 3 girls who live in Barcelona. Every chapter lasts 20 minutes more or less and this series has offered 8 chapters thus far. It won an accolade at the last Cannes Film Festival. Perhaps it can be stupid to feel like that, but chapter 4 stole my heart for 20 minutes!!!!!!
