Nowadays, the world of marketing and advertisement has made us got used to provocative images, raunchy photographs, steamy video clips, they seem normal in our society something that would frighten our ancestors, both male and female models have now an incredible and really well paid job, not only may we see them in fashion venues they also appear in video clips, movies, television programmes and more things. Sexy

Image is essential and ordinary people are concerned to it too. Notwithstanding, sometimes professionals push the limits too much and some commercials are banned albeit it is really difficult to see what is moral and what should be banned. There a lot of commercials, advertisements or video clips that perhaps we see as nothing special but they are banned though. Read this in Spanish Sexy

Today, I am going to show some examples of commercials, video clips, photographs and even television appearances which were banned as they were deemed too sexy and too provocative. I hope  you can form you own opinion on this matter and above all, enjoy them as some are fairly interesting.

HEIDI KLUM- GUITAR HERO

One of the most important models in history, the entrepreneur, mother of four, actress, television host, businesswoman, fashion designer, television producer and occasional singer and painter, the German celebrity Heidi Klum suffered a banned on a Guitar Hero commercial she starred  which was going to appear during the halftime of the Superbowl. 

 It is clever inasmuch as it recreates one of the most imitated scenes in the history of cinema, Heidi Klum imitates the famous scene in the Tom Cruise´s movie Risky Business. (the banned one has dissapeared, I  have not been able to find it, the only thing that changes is that Heidi Klum does not have this white tshirt at the beginning, take a look).

 HALCOMBE´S VERDICT: Innocent, it is not so provocative to be banned

 CANDICE SWANEPOEL-BRIAN ATWOOD

One of the most important models of our time the South African beauty Candice Swanepoel has been the last model who has seen her work banned, she is the star of the fall and winter season of the shoes brand Brian Atwood, she appeared in a video and in three pictures that  were going to stand in the Stores of the the  Brian Atwood´s shop in Manhattan in the heart of New York city, however, some people criticised the pictures as they were too provocative because the Victoria´s secret angel Candice Swanepoel seems to be in the middle of  an orgy, the owner of the building in New York was convinced of this notion and the images will be never be shown in the store albeit they were made to do so. However, it is not clear that Brian Atwood will not put them on magazines.

"I respect that they banned it. Not everybody is comfortable with their sexuality and with showing your body.For me it’s not a problem. I’m proud of my body. I work hard for my body. As long as it’s always done in a tasteful way, which it was."

Not only has Candice Swanepoel made some pictures for Brian Atwood, the famous model has also appeared in a commercial for Brian Atwood which has also been banned, it is going to be modified and the video which you can see right now will not appear in this way.

What do you think? These pictures are too provocative?. Have you never seen a movie with more erotic scenes?. I think this is strange when it comes from a city like New York City. The good news for Brian Atwood are that  even though they cannot show the pictures in Manhattan nor the video clip at least they have made the brand more popular, don´t you think?. It is a brand well known amongst famous people such as Rachel Weisz, Victoria Beckam or Kate Hudson.

HALCOMBE´S VERDICT: Innocent, as it is a great commercial and extraordinary photographs indeed, it is a mistake to have banned that.

 EVA MENDES-CALVIN KLEIN

“We can show guns everywhere and stuff but we can't show a woman's nipple - that's a bit backwards to me.” Eva Mendes.

The American actress Eva Mendes whose parents are Cuban was utterly disappointed when her Calvin Klein ad was banned in the United States as she had a nipple slippage which was included in the final cut of her Calvin Kleín´s Perfume commercial named Secret Obsession,  was it too much for Television?

                             

While shooting this commercial which something unexpected happened, so amazed at the new images the producers were that the original intention was changed. However, authorities banned it and it has never seen on television. 

Apart from Eva Mendes, Calvin Klein has also signed another star from Hollywood, the German actress Diane Kruger also appears in a black and white perfume commercial. Besides, another actress as Zoe Saldana has also worked for Calvin Klein. Eva Mendes made a great job and she claims that the guilty image happens so fast that makes the entire commercial natural and more precious.

HALCOMBE´S VERDICT:  Guilty, The nipple was not to appear in the first place,  it was unnecessary hence and avoidable too although the commercial is good.

Whether you believe it or not the truth is that the innocent Katy Perry was banned from Sesame Street because of her cleavage in this video clip with Elmo, it was kept in secret so that being released on Christmas.

Prior to this magic period, it was send in exclusive to some fans which were also mums who send dozens and dozens of letters as they though it was too hot for children, they said Katy Perry shows too much and her skirt and cleavage were not appropriate. 

The following video clip has neven been broadcasted. Will you able to watch it or you will be horrified like these American mums?

                                                           

Some weeks after the ban Katy Perry appeared on Saturday Night Live making fun of the unexpected situation, her appearance is very noticeable. Katy Perry was sad because she had no intentions of make any trouble and she is very popular amongst children.

HALCOMBE´S VERDICT:  Completely innocent (the only thing we can blame Katy Perry is for having been married  to Russell Brand for a while). Would children notice or take care of Katy Perry´s dress, cleavage or skirt?

AXE AND NEW YORKER-BANNED COMMERCIALS
The two following commercials were also banned recently but there is not a superstar involved in them, the first one is from AXE. They were not allowed to be on television.

This second one is from the American brand New Yorker, it was also banned. 

HALCOMBE´S VERDICT: Guilty because of the mediocre quality of the two commercials as AXE´S  message is not so funny and it is unbelievable and the New Yorker one is ambiguous and not so clear what they really want to convey.

ENRIQUE IGLESIAS-TONIGHT

Now, The  most controversial video clip from the Spanish pop star Enrique Iglesias, his hit Tonight had some problems. It cannot be played on radio during daytime and in some places was only allowed on the Internet. 

Besides, the original title is sometimes hidden or changed. In fact, there are two versions. Will you notice the differences? Of course because the only thing he changed was the title of the song and the line on the lyrics from "Tonight I am f.....g you" to "Tonight I am loving you". Genius!! Isn´t it???

                                        

Enrique Iglesias is the son of one of most important Spanish singers ever, Julio Iglesias. At first, Enrique Iglesias was worry about the quality of his skills therefore he started to write stuff with a false name, however, is one of the most important pop stars in the world, he is dating the erstwhile tennis player Anna Kournikova. 

His hit Tonight is one of his most important songs, this is what Enrique Iglesias said about the song Tonight. "It's probably what a lot of guys and girls think about at times, but they don't have the guts to say. It's pretty straightforward. Music has become so direct and you can say whatever you want, which is cool. At the end of the day, it's just a song you don't have to take it seriously. You can have fun with it". 

In the end, the clean version with the word "loving" tends to be more used.

HALCOMBE´S VERDICT:Deliberately guilty. Enrique Iglesias is a pop star and not even rappers put that word in the title of a song or in the chorus, I do not even know how Enrique wrote that thing and the change for the word loving makes the song and the video clip a little silly. 

Sometimes, it is really, really easy to provoke and make controversy something which maybe was the aim of this singer.

What is more, they changed the sinner word but the steamy images with the models are still on, Does it make any sense?.

KYLE MINOGUE-AGENT PROVOCATEUR.

One of the most famous banned commercials and also one of the best ad ever  is this one in which Kyle Minogue appears working for the lingerie brand Agent Provocateur. 

This commercial was banned from television but it was shown in cinemas, as a matter of fact, it was voted the best cinema advertisement of all time according to Digital Cinema Media.  Kyle Minogue is one of the most popular pop stars in music history, she was born in Australia but all her career has been done in the United Kingdom where she is a huge star. 

She is also an actress and she has appeared in films such as Street Fighter or Moulin Rouge. Her works in the early 2000s made her a super star again, her songs are really popular, catchy and good.

HALCOMBE´S VERDICT: Guilty, one of the worst things Kyle Minogue has ever done and it does get on well with her image neither. However, it is one of the best cinema advertisement in history according to Digital Cinema Media.  I do not consider it so good.

RIHANNA- S&M 

This video from one of the most famous stars in music, the Barbadian singer Rihanna was banned in 11 Countries and it is not so easy to watch on You Tube for instance. It contains some scenes which were not very well received, it features the famous celebrity blogger Perez Hilton acting as a dog, and Rihanna was sued as some images were copied from a famous photographer.

 If you have not seen it you have now an opportunity and if you have any trouble viewing it you must open a You Tube account.

                                           

HALCOMBE´S VERDICT: Guilty. I think is not an original nor great video clip and it destroys a little bit the song which is great and provocative in their lyrics already, in consequence, that video clip was not necessary. Lastly, I want to make clear  what I wanted to express is my understanding of the reasons which made authorities to ban them, I am not saying that I support the actions.

Just as Ian Fleming quotes we understand how the nature of a Bond Girl must be, they cannot tolerate indifference and indifference should not meet them, according to this, the two new Bond girls epitomises this principle perfectly  as  the new James Bond´s movie Skyfall has Bérénice Marlohe and Naomie Harris therein. They will be alongside Daniel Craig in the new adventure of 007 which opens the 26th of October. BEST BOND GIRLS

In order to make the movie more attractive, the British franchise has chosen the great singer Adele to sing the new main theme. What is more, the evil is played by one of the best actors in the world and probably the best Spanish actor ever, Javier Bardem. Skyfall is the 23th James Bond adventure and it seems one of the best, in my opinion, the new century has brought us the best James Bond ever, Daniel Craig is much better than Pierce Brosman and the movie Casino Royale, for instance,  was the best adventure ever done. Furthermore, the 21st century Bond girls not only are glamorous they are also excellent actresses as Halle Berry and Eva Green proved. 

Skyfall is directed by one of the best film makers of the last 20 years, even though he has not directed anything relevant recently he is still the author of marvellous movies such as American Beauty or the wonderful Road to Perdition, I am talking of course of Sam Mendes. 

Apart from movies he has directed successfully different theatre plays. This director has worked really hard in order to make the movie more attractive in artistic matters, he has encouraged writers so that make the characters deep and rich, something Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Daniel Craig, Bérénice Marlohe, Naomie Harris and Ralph Fiennes have done, the easy bonheur 007 movies convey are gone to bring quality and cinematic rigour. Both Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem are incredible actors, this makes the story better than most of the 007 stories. After being watched by experts everybody agrees that this Skyfall movie is one of the best James Bond adventures ever.

Skyfall was shot in China, Turkey and United Kingdom, it has been delayed as the film had financial problems.  In this adventure James Bond will face an evil villain named Raoul Silva  and Judi Dench will have to fight her turbulent and unknown past. In other words, we are to see James Bond at his best, great actors, plot, director and even song, however, the most exciting thing of this post is to discover the best Bond girl of this new century     

BEST BOND GIRL OF THE 21ST CENTURY

The 33 year old French beauty is appearing in her first important role, her dream of being with Bardem in a movie has just become real. Firstly, she did want to be a pianist something she declined and focus instead on acting. "Glamorous and enigmatic" these two words were given when her character Séverine was first described, Bérénice Marlohe is now becoming a household name in French cinema.

Naomie Melanie Harris is a British actress whose birth took place in 1976, her most prominent works were her appearances in the movies 28 days later and Pirates of the Caribbean Sea. She was born in London, her mum is from Jamaica and our star follows Buddhism. She has been acting since she was 9 years old. Although is not the main Bond girl, her role is very important and she is a marvellous actress indeed.

Due to her debut as a Bond girl in the movie Quantum of Solace, Olga Kurylenko has caught the big eye of the movie industry, she is to appear in the new Terrence Malick´s movie and has lots of offers, she was a model before being in movies who was discovered at the kind age of 16, she has appeared on several fashion magazines and she is  the main face of  numerous fashion brands. She was born in Ukraine although she has French nationality too.

One of the best actresses in the world, Eva Green has appeared in films such as Dreamers, Kingdom of Heaven or most recently in  Dark Shadows alongside Johnny Depp, her dad is a Swedish dentist and her mum a prominent French actress,  she is French, has a female twin and was born in Paris in 1980. She attended English-speaking academic institutions hence her English skills are perfect, his English is as good as her French. She probably played the most enigmatic Bond girl ever, Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale. She won a minor Bafta some years ago.

Halle Berry is one of the most important stars in the world of Hollywood. Her fame, beauty, acting quality and relevance are well known, she was chosen to celebrate the 40 years of the Bond films and she made an historic rendition to Ursula Andress, however, despite being one of the best Bond girls ever her movie Die another day with Pierce Brosman was not so good as Casino Royale where Eva Green starred in one of the best James Bond´s adventures. Berry is one of the best actresses in the world, she has won a lot of awards, an Oscar, an Emmy, a Golden Globe Award... (she even won the erstwhile Razzie and known now as Raspberry Award for her role in Catwoman and she did attend) she is a former model and a superstar. One of the most powerful and best paid actress of the world.

THE BEST BOND GIRL OF THIS CENTURY.

As far as acting is concerned, Eva Green and Halle Berry are clearly beyond the rest, they are far better than Olga Kurylenko, Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe, most of all, when they have more experience and they have done better movies, Halle Berry, for instance, won an Oscar for her splendid acting in Monster´s Ball, though he has no done great movies recently. Eva Green is also a great actress, she has not won an important award but her acting skills are really good.

The final is between Halle Berry and Eva Green, the adventure in which Eva Green appeared was much better than the one Berry did, Eva Green´s Vesper Lynd is the key of James Bond manners and beliefs. Both Halle Berry and Eva Green are extremely beautigul and talented yet Eva Green speaks French and English perfectly and as she is European has experienced more problems to be successful in the movie industry. She has appeared in humble European movies for instance. What is more, Eva Green is single whereas Halle Berry has married the actor Olivier Martinez whose acting  skills are unknown to me...

The Rolling Stones Grrr again!!! 50 and counting tour

Of course they are old, of course we do not really need more new albums from The Rolling Stones, they are extremely wealthy, even Jagger should not dance so much, Keith is not in a perfect shape either, they could be counting  their loot on one of their several houses by the beach as the Glimmer Twins are 68. Notwithstanding, they still are  The Rolling Stones and his legend and nature do not allow them to be resting. In consequence, a new brand album named GRRR! is to be launched the next 13th of November, Do you want to hear the new single? Its name is Doom and Gloom and it is one of the best songs The Rolling Stones have made in the last decade, it has been recorded in Paris and been produced by Don Was. What can be surprising is that Doom and Gloom  is one of the best singles they have recently made, the songs The Stones have made in the 21st century are probably  better than the material they did in the Eighties and even the Nineties. New Doom and Gloom´s version with Noomi Rapace therein as the main star and the Rolling Stones playing with her

Even though this new single is really good, the Grrr! compilation album has made me got cold feet as it only contains two new songs. It is like an excuse to be on the road again, The Rolling Stones is one of the last bands which have garnered such a reputation that they are able to sold out anywhere anytime. They were only going to play two gigs in New York City and London, however, the legendary saxophonist Bobby Keys has announced that they are to play more dates and the British media has revealed recently that they are even to appear for the first time in the magic Glastonbury next summer. Anything they produce let them to be touring successfully.

                             

Apart from that album, a new career spanning documentary named Crossfire Hurricane opens next 15th of November on the famous HBO. Whether you believe or not there are more new material never seen hitherto. It seems as whether they somewhat kept this material in a drawer some decades ago waiting for the right time to be unleashed. The time has finally arrived and Brett Morgen is the director of this new documentary, Crossfire Hurricane is a sentence extracted from one of the best songs ever written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, Jumping Jack Flash, Crossfire Hurricane contains interviews with former members and the current stars of The Rolling Stones and it is going to be an outlook of the career of this legendary rock band.

Furthermore, another old documentary has appeared named The Rolling Stones Charlie is my darling although it is published by their former Record Company. Consequently, it is no clear whether The Rolling Stones are fully behind the publication.

In the last decade The Rolling Stones have published some documentaries and have released different compilation albums, this can make people tired of them, they even published a concert recorded in New York City  directed by Martin Scorsese, it was great yet nothing new was added. The name was Shine a light, it contains some old songs which are rarely played by The Stones, they invited Jack White, Christina Aguilera and Buddy Guy, it was great though as I have said before nothing really new was included on it.

                                 

Alongside with new versions of their classic albums updated in this new century some new songs were added so that  making them more attractive, this songs were excluded from the original albums, moreover, after every world tour a complete DVD and a live album are always published.  What is more, few years ago after having updated their joyful "Exile on main street" they published a documentary talking of the recording which was somehow unique as it was recorded when they were broken in Britain and force therefore to escape ending up  in a house in the south of France, they made a record under strange yet very rock and roll circumstances. The name of this  documentary is Stones in Exile. They started an eternal party which produced one of the best rock albums of all time "Exile on main street". Stones in Exile reflects this period.

Last July it  was the 50th anniversary of the first Rolling Stones concert, the 12th of July of 1962 they played in London at the Marquee club their first live performance, little did they know then that 50 years later they would be the greatest rock and roll band in music history, even so, they should no take advantage of this event and their glorious and nostalgic magical past  in such a sly manner. They were only given that day 5 pounds each (Brian Jones got 6 pounds as he was the leader) whereas now everything they do is turned into gold, Keith Richards, for instance, received several million dollars so that have published his memoirs. It is also believed that they are going to earn 20 million dollars for the 4 arranged concerts they are to play this fall (two in London and another 2 in New York) in order to celebrate their 50 years as a rock band. The Forever 27 Club All in all, it is a remarkable to have been playing successfully for 50 years most of all when you have lived such an incredible life and have done so great albums and achieved  milestones. However, it is also clear that they are fortunate people who know how to manage everything so that  be still on the top because of their experience in the music industry.

I do not what are you going to do but Halcombe Hackney Norilsk is going to have this new (albeit not so new) Rolling Stone´s album because The Rolling Stones are to Grrr!!! (again). Let´s forget them this time as this new single Doom and Gloom is extraordinary but we will scrutinise them carefully in the near future though ( if they will be Grrr! again) Won´t they?!!

RULE, BRITANNIA!! David Cameron and Boris Johnson at Late Show with David Letterman

"Politics is show business for ugly people"

The premier of Great Britain, the Tory leader David Cameron become the first president of the United Kingdom who appears on The Late Show with David Letterman, one of the best programmes in television, it was a risky movement for a politician as he could face questions beset with perils,  this interview was not fully needed indeed yet as it could have been good for the image of Great Britain as David Letterman´s late night is widely watched hence many people would take United Kingdom more into account, David Cameron was really happy to appear on that show.

So important this interview for David Cameron was that the British politician and his team had been   preparing the intervention for months and they even had studied the appearance of the mayor of London Boris Johnson who starred in the same programme some months ago, (some critics pointed out that  David Cameron wanted desperately to appear as his friend/enemy Boris Johnson did it too and he wanted to do better than the famous mayor of London).

No matter how much they trained as David Letterman made unexpected questions which made David Cameron doubtful about some points concerning British history and he answered them wrongly, his interview therefore  was deemed a failure by many.  He could not answer rightly who wrote the song Rule, Britannia! and what Magna Carta means in English. Henceforth,  are we to see more important foreign  politicians like David Cameron on  the Letterman Show? One of the best newspapers in the world, The Guardian, hope not, this important newspaper have published some articles  pretty critical of the performance of his president David Cameron. In this article you can read an analysis of the interview written in a great English and with a video showing the part in which David Cameron fails. I recommend how it ends.

Despite criticism I strongly believe such appearances are great news for television viewers, it is really interesting to see a top politician being interviewed on television, most of all, when it is an important overseas programme and the neutrality is clear as Cameron was not going to be in a soft interview nor in a critical one. I do not mind whether David Cameron really wanted to be regarded better than Boris Johnson or whether he only did to help his country, the decision to appear is brave and bold as it is clear it can turned out into a disaster, he talked about his country, history and to be honest his failures are surprising yet not extremely serious. David Cameron was able to promote his country and I think he did a great job. You can compare David Cameron to  Boris Johnson due to this video.

If I am to compare the two conservatives British politicians  I  can clearly say that Boris Johnson was better than David Cameron on the Letterman Show. Boris Johnson really did better than David Cameron,  whereas Cameron got surprised at some questions Boris Johnson  seemed more comfortable and confident. Moreover, he smiled when Letterman made laugh of his hair. Furthermore, it seems David Cameron was not fully comfortable during the programme. Now you can read an article which says that this kind of things should not be made by a politician. It is very interesting.

Likewise, another  important British politician did something peculiar recently, I am talking of  Nick Clegg´s apology note as some promises his party did before elections have not been fulfilled. In my opinion, it think it was a humble and admirable gesture, in fact, if I were Briton I would vote for Nick Clegg in the next elections. Here you can enjoy his apology speech. He is an honest man.

                                 

What do you think? All these actions, appearances on shows, strange apologies are not needed or are they?. We do not pay too much attention to politics and they take advantage of it, they live such a great life and tend to act arrogantly even though they live because of our money. In consequence, if a politician like Nick Clegg makes a video saying sorry and explaining why he has been unable of putting into practise all he wanted we should be pleased. In addition, if a politician like David Cameron goes to a talk show in order to promote his country even though he wanted to appear wiser than Boris Johnson it is good too.

Let´s help David Cameron as we are to see this famous British song,  Rule, Britannia! there are many versions,  It goes without saying that Rule Britannia  is somewhat  nationalistic, it was made into music in 1740 by Thomas Arne, it is derived from a poem written by James Thomson, it is widely sung by the Navy and the Army. It conveys the time Great Britain was a vast Empire. You can watch here a live performance. The music is beautiful and powerful.

As times do have changed indeed and it is one of my favourites groups, we will put a better British song, you have guessed it!!  London Calling by the Clash. Here you can see a modern version paying homage to The Clash and Joe Strummer made by Bruce Springsteen at Hyde Park in Central London. As David Letterman and Boris Johnson on the Letterman Show reminded "Who is tired of London is tired of life". Politicians come and go ( it is not good to have the same bunch many years) but London will always be there!!!!

To start with, you can see right now a recent BBC Documentary about Spain, it is named "The great Spanish Crash". Spanish authorities were not very happy with it hence they called BBC in order to show their anger. If you cannot say it here, please look for it as it is really clarifying.

THE GREAT SPANISH CRASH

Today we are to see how the image of Spain is seen across the world. We will see now some pictures taken by a Spanish photographer considered one of the best in the world, his name is Samuel Aranda, this man has taken  some controversial photographs which are hard to not make you wince sadly, they are included in an article published by  the New York Times.

However, not everybody has seen the kudos the New York Times should receive and many Spanish journalist have pointed out that these pictures and the article you can read later are misguided, clearly disparaged and overly exaggerated, it entices you into believe Spain is broken, the alarms therefore are not mandatory because The New Times has only seen the perspective they wanted to show and Spain is not so destroyed. According to this, we will hinge on the reality the Spanish media show in order to know what is really taking place. I have found a video which is shared by all the Spanish newspapers indeed hence you can objectively see what is happening these days in Spain.

In real terms, we are living difficult and decisive times as Spanish debt is high, the political measures harder and the unemployment even worse. Spain is paying humongous interest rates. The Spanish Government and the premiere Mariano Rajoy are fighting in order to prevent the country from a new bailout which would make the country poorer and weaker and in shambles for decades like Portugal or Greece albeit the conditions attached to it would not be so hard to accomplish. Last summer the risk premium was too high, now it is not so high yet they must be under 400 in order to avoid the bailout. Our image is horrible, demonstrations, clashes... Accidentally, just this week this article appears 

The New York Times on Spain

Moreover, not only have The New York Times made an article in which Spain is depicted in an awful state, one of its main competitors  the also American newspaper The Wall Street Journal made a video about our country just two years ago (when I first  saw it in 2010 I could not imagine how bad   would Spain be right now as the situation of this country has never been so serious, let alone when this country had several years of great prosperity not long time ago) This video was highly criticised as it shows the typical side of this country, no matter what your opinion can be it is really important and interesting to know and watch a journalistic work from a foreign publication. Two years ago all the things The Wall Street Journal said are becoming real (are not them already?).

Mariano Rajoy is this week in New York City and has announced many things, he has chosen The Wall Street Journal to talk about them, it is not the first time our politicians choose a foreign publication, in fact, this is happening very often, when Catalonia said it was going to get a bailout from the Central Government they announced it on the BBC, it seems they prefer foreign publications. Spain wants to delay the bail out as long as it could be, Spanish politicians are not so worried about our country and they even say that maybe pensions would get higher yet there is no money and our salaries are low although not our prices.

Taking everything into account, we can clearly be worry about Spain, above all if like myself you live there and you are not retired or still not an adult because the reality we are seeing is very bad, apart from our friends in Portugal, Greece and Ireland  we  perhaps have the gloomiest future of the European Union. We are to live worse than our parents and we will have worse pensions funds than our grandparents.

About Mitt Romney.

The first debate between the two big contenders who aspire to become the next America´s president (Barack Obama and Mitt Romney) or in other words the most powerful man in the world is to take place in a few weeks time. Every day we will see more and more pieces of news about the two candidates and I want to take this opportunity to talk a little bit about the Republican nominee writing some anecdotes and some interesting facts so that look to the race from a different and neutral point of view as Halcombe Norilsk lives in Spain and he is not allowed to vote (to date) Who will win this gripping race Mitt Romney or Barack Obama? I do not know but I am sure you are going to love this post or at least you will find or learn something new.

MITT ROMNEY

THE LATEST ABOUT THE CANDIDATES.

Any mistake they may commit or anything out of control can affect them too badly, yesterday it was one of the worst days of Mitt Romney and one of the best of Barack Obama as a speech made by the Republican candidate  in a private convention in Florida showed what he deeply thinks about Barack Obama and his voters, he said that just 47% of Americans live because of the Goverment´s funds. Somebody has uploaded the video and you can discover what he said right now.

  

He considers Obama has a great advantage as there are a lot of people (this famous 47%) who are always to vote for him as they live due to Government funds and they do not pay income taxes at all and if Mitt Romney is going to do some cuts on taxes he seems he is helping the rich.  The speech was made in Florida, he agrees it was made by him and the only regret he has is that the words were not chosen accurately. It can be deemed as a  big mistake even though he was in a private convention because the statement is hard and he needs to explain it. Some hours later, Barack Obama appeared on the Show of David Letterman and he took advantage of the mistake made by Mitt Romney and he referred to it saying that... Will you miss his answer and his latest interview?

It is clear that yesterday was not the best day on the life of Mitt Romney but he has not lost anything yet, in some weeks there is the first debate on television of this campaign ( I admire US elections as they always have three television debates something in Spain does not always happen and sometimes we even do not have any). In consequence, he can still get stronger like the man who is now his best friend. Paul Ryan. Do you know him? Do not worry you only have to read a little bit and discover some anecdotes.

PAUL RYAN

As John McCain did four years ago Mitt Romney has selected a young person who can boost Republican voters and give him a fresh look, the choice was Paul Ryan. He is famous already worldwide but there are other facts about Ryan that are unknown and in spite of being extraneous to the headlines are really interesting and even funny. For example, he has worked in some "not very glamorous jobs" like the one he had one summer when he was dressed as Oscar Mayer driving a wienermobile

                                          

He also worked as a waitress and gym instructor before being into politics, he is a hard worker. As his father, grandfather and grand grandfather died of a heart attack he is a great health-conscious and he does exercise a lot everyday. (Some say he is mad about exercise). His father died when he was 15. What distinguishes Paul Ryan from other Republican politicians is that he is not against gay people and in fact he voted against some Republicans measures to this collective as Paul Ryan has some friends who are homosexual and he believes they do not choose it deliberately. This is really strange when it comes from a Republican top politician.

However, in my opinion,  the strangest thing related to Paul Ryan is that he loves "noodling" which (to my amusement and surprise) is a sport where a person catches catfish with their bare hands, believe it or not it is popular in the United States and illegal in some parts of this country.

CLINT EASTWOOD AND BILL CLINTON

Everybody supposes that Hollywood is always on the side of Democrats, nevertheless one of the best filmmakers and actors in cinema history made an historic speech at the Republican convention making clear that there is a wide range of opinions in Hollywood. We are talking of course of Clint Eastwood, the man who has appeared and made some of the best movies in cinema history, a true legend, he was on the side of Barack Obama four years ago but now he considers the president of the United States a farce, his speech in the Republican convention was historic, humorous and witty, you can enjoy it now.

Clint Eastwood´s support towards Mitt Romney and his jokes against Barack Obama came as a surprise and it was a great gesture to Republicans. However, a week later one of the best members of the history of Democrats helped Barack Obama, something he was not obliged to do and something in fact he did not do so clear in the past, Bill Clinton who has a great support from male white Democrats made a great speech and they managed to overshadow what Clint Eastwood humorously did when he was speaking to an empty chair occupied  by an invisible Barack Obama. You can enjoy a great speech from an historic politician.

MOVIES

Democrats should not rely on Hollywood fully, not only did Clint Eastwood criticise Barack Obama, what is more and in spite of the fact almost every star in the sky of Hollywood is on his side a new great documentary has been released name 2016: Obama´s America where the life and past of Barack Obama is depicted, as it says You hate or you love Barack Obama but you do not really know him. It seems that this documentary has created controversy and it has gained the support of many people who are going to vote for Romney. Democrats instead has received a great help from the best producer in Hollywood Harvey Weinstein who is going to release a new brand film about the hunt of Osama Bin Laden  made by the only woman who has ever won an Academy Award in the category of best director, her name is Kathryn Bigelow, it depicts the search and hunt of Bin Laden, the film is named Zero Dark Thirty. Most people think this film is to help Obama as the hunting for Osama Bin Laden is a milestone in the history of the United States. Harvey Weinstein has expressed his support for Obama. MORMONS AND MUSIC

Mitt Romney is a wealthy man, he has achieved a vast sum of money throughout his life, his wife is also a millionaire, she is a devoted wife and women who has cared for Mitt Romney and his family, they have 5 children and  between 200 and 250 millions of dollars in different banks. The pair met in High School and they are still together after 50 years. As far as religion is concerned,  Mitt Romney is  a Mormon, it means  he can not drink alcohol at all, he can not follow an ostentatious lifestyle and he believes everything he lives is a test and exam made and arranged by god. He gives a lot of money to poor people like  the 3 million dollars he gave last year to charity.

Last but not the least because as a matter of fact can be the most exciting matter on this post we are going to say what is the most loved Mitt Romney´s rock band and as it is The Killers (Brandon Flowers is also a Mormon) you can enjoy now the last great song The Killers have made.

Halcombe Norilsk does not know who is to win the US Election but we really know The Killers is a superb band and his latest hit is great!!! I also hope you have learned something enjoyable.
